Phonazo: frequently asked questions
AI Phone Receptionist
Is this live? What exactly am I paying for?
Not yet. Phonazo is in pre-order and the pilot is planned within about 60 days. The ₹499 (or $10) is a founding-member deposit: it reserves a pilot spot, includes free setup, and is credited to your first month. If you change your mind at any point before your line goes live, you get the full amount back. You can also join the free waitlist instead.
How much will it cost per month after launch?
The monthly plan price will be confirmed to you in writing before go-live, based on the call volume you tell us. Founding members keep that price for 12 months. If it doesn't make sense for your business, ask for a refund of the ₹499 deposit - no questions. Use the calculator on this page to see what your missed calls cost you today, so you can judge the price when it comes.
Do I need a new phone number?
No. You keep your existing mobile or landline number and turn on conditional call forwarding (forward when busy, not answered or switched off) to your Phonazo line. Your phone still rings first; Phonazo picks up only the calls you miss. On most Indian mobiles this is a short dial code or a setting in the phone app; we send exact steps for your operator during setup.
Will callers know they are talking to an AI?
Yes. The greeting says it is the clinic's or salon's AI assistant. People accept that easily when the call gets their question answered or their slot booked; they get annoyed when a bot pretends to be human. Anyone who asks for a person is passed to your number or promised a call back.
What will it not do?
It will not give medical, legal or price-negotiation advice, take payments over the phone, or argue with an angry customer. Emergencies (chest pain, heavy bleeding, an accident) are told to call 112 or go to the nearest hospital, and you are alerted at once. Complaints, refunds and anything it is unsure about are passed to you with a summary.
Which calendars and clinic software will it work with?
The pilot books into Google Calendar, and can also use a simple slot sheet we set up with you. If you use clinic software such as Practo or a salon app, tell us when you reserve; we are prioritising integrations by what founding members use, and we'll tell you honestly before go-live whether yours is supported.
Which languages does it speak?
Hindi, English and Hinglish at launch, switching to match the caller. Tell us when you reserve if you need Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali or Gujarati; we'll add regional languages in the order founding members ask for them.
What happens to call recordings and patient details?
Callers are told at the start that the call is answered by an AI assistant and may be recorded. Call transcripts and summaries are shown only to you, are used only to run your receptionist, and can be deleted on request. For clinics, Phonazo collects only what is needed to book (name, phone number, reason for visit in the caller's words) and does not ask for medical history.
Can I use it in the US or elsewhere?
The pilot starts in India. US and other businesses can reserve now ($10 deposit, same refund terms); English and Spanish answering for US numbers is planned after the Indian pilot. If you need something today, US services such as Rosie, Goodcall or Smith.ai are already live.
What can I do for free right now?
Two things on this page: work out how much your missed calls are costing you, and build your receptionist script and WhatsApp Business away message. The script works today for a human receptionist too, and it is exactly what we load into your Phonazo line at setup.
